Chris
Kalish is the GE Director and Chief
Technology Officer of the edgelab. Prior to his tenure at
GE, Chris was a Technical Fellow at PepsiCo, where he was
responsible for global systems architecture and technology
strategies. Chris has research experience in parallel systems
and hardware and compiler design, and has led applied studies
in emerging technologies, such as biometrics, sales force
automation, and broadband wireless technologies. Chris holds
a Bachelor of Science from Columbia University School of Engineering
and Applied Sciences.

GC
Vellutino, Program Manager. GC is a veteran of two semesters
as an edgelab student, during which time he was also completing
his MBA and advanced certificates in Marketing Intelligence
at UConn. GC began his career at Sony, where he worked on
national promotions and brand-building initiatives for the
consumer electronics group. As a marketing agency account
manager, he has handled multi-million dollar campaigns for
Coca-Cola and Unilever. GC also has experience developing
new markets for wireless telecom services; marketing technology
symposiums featuring Microsoft, Cisco, Motorola, and others;
and constructing online marketing campaigns. GC holds an MBA
from the University of Connecticut, a BA in English from Princeton
University, and a pre-college diploma from The Juilliard School.

Ryan
Kaisoglus, Emerging Technologies Leader. Ryan's duties
at the lab include researching new technologies, running edgelab's
proprietary tech research tool (emergeNow), and working with
students to evaluate technologies. Ryan started with GE in
2001 in the Information Management Leadership Program where
he focused his time as an IT Project Manager around data warehousing,
analytics, and enterprise reporting. A certified Six Sigma
Black Belt, Ryan spent two years in a GE Equipment Services
sub-business in Quality and Project Management Office leadership
roles. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Information Systems
from Susquehanna University.

Dr.
Paulo B. Goes, Professor of Operations and Information
Management, is the Gladstein Professor of Information Technology
and Innovation. A former Associate Director of the Connecticut
Information Technology Institute, he played a fundamental
role in the conceptualization and implementation of edgelab.
He is director of the endowed Treibick Electronic Commerce
Initiative (TECI) and from 1996 to 1999 he was the Technology
Director of UConn’s School of Business. He has been
teaching information technology courses for UConn since 1990
and has received several teaching awards. His research interests
include Internet technologies and electronic commerce, design
and evaluation of models for e-business, online auctions,
database recovery/security, computer networking and technology
infrastructure.

Dr.
James R. Marsden serves as the UConn Director of edgelab.
He joined UConn in 1993 as Professor and Head of the Department
of Operations and Information Management. He was part of a
three-person team that conceptualized, initiated and oversaw
the development of the Connecticut Information Technology
Institute and is currently serving as its Executive Director.
He also developed and implemented the Treibick Electronic
Commerce Initiative. Dr. Marsden also serves as Director of
the OPIM/SBA MIS Research Lab and served for several years
as a member of the Advisory Board and Steering Committee of
CIBER (Center for International Business Education and Research).
He currently serves on the edgelab Steering Committee which
selects and resources projects and oversees operations. Dr.
Marsden is a two-time winner of the Chancellor's Award for
IT Excellence and a co-winner of the Team Connecticut Program
Award from the Office of Economic Development.

Stacey
Frangione , Coordinator, joined edgelab
in January 2004. Stacey is the liaison between GE, the university
and edgelab. Behind the scenes, she is the office manager and
is responsible for student recruitment, public relations, special
events and outplacement. Prior to joining edgelab, Stacey was
the Compensation Coordinator at GE Commercial Finance Headquarters
Human Resources. In her fifteen years with General Electric,
she has also worked in Finance, Information Technology and e-Business.
Stacey received her Associates Degree in Business Administration
from Sacred Heart University in 2005. |
